Bio

Copernicus WF is a stunning, modern stallion for the North American market. A brilliant red chestnut with long legs and a short coupled back. Copernicus demonstrates superior work ethic and a great temperament both at home and at the show. He carries enough blood and scope for the jumper ring while carrying a canter that will easily cross over to the hunter ring in future years. Copernicus continued his show career in 2022 as a 6yr old competing successfully up to 1.25m. Copernicus will continue to be developed to his full potential in sport as a jumper with a plan to cross over into the Hunter Derby ring in 2023. We expect great things from this young stallion in both the hunter and jumper rings.

Copernicus WF demonstrates excellent jump technique and scope with the incredible hind end that passes down from his maternal line.  He has qualified for the American Hanoverian Society’s Jumper Breeding Program and claimed the title of Champion Jumper Stallion at the 2022 North American Stallion Sport Test with a final score of 8.65. He received top scores of 9 for Scope, 8.5 for Canter, 8.5 for Style, 8.5 for Rideability and 8.5 for Overall Impression. Copernicus now holds his lifetime approvals with Hanoverian, GOV and Westfalen NA.

Sire Clinton I (Carolus I) jumped at 1.60m with Thomas Voss.  He was twice the winner of the Swedish derby, fourth in the Grand Prix of Aachen, winner of the Nations Cup. Clinton I has produced many offspring that competed to 1.60m and multiple licensed stallions including Clintord I. Clinton I sire Carolus I is full brother to Carolus II who jumped successfully at international level with Thomas Voss and Schuyler Riley.

Dam E.M Flower Song is a member of the American Hanoverian Society’s Jumper Breeding Program. Flower Song has produced many other quality horses including Quintessential WF who has been successfully competing in the National 1.40m Grand Prixs and most recently stepped up to 1.45m/2* level. A half sister to Copernicus Wf, she demonstrates the quality of sport horse that derive from this Dam line. Flower Song hails from Windswept Farm’s own stallion Federalist who is the son of For Pleasure.

For Pleasure has been exceptionally important in modern jumper breeding in both the sire and  lines. Ranked 24th on the 2020 WBFSH list he has produced such top competitors as Fit for Fun, Hello Forever and the indominable Fine Lady 5. As a sire of dam he was ranked third by Hippomundo in 2020 based on amount of prize money won by offspring competing at international level.

Copernicus WF will continue his breeding career in 2023 with a limited fresh semen season to continue to focus on his development in sport. Frozen semen will be available any time. We will anxiously await his first crop of foals.
